Our History

Bohlendorf is a country manor with an especially interesting history dating back to the year 1316, when it is mentioned in a report written by Claws Bolenson.

Bohlendorf Manor in 1939

It remained under the ownership of the von Bohlen family until the 20th century.
When Adolf von Wolff-Bohlen died without an heir in the year 1935, Dr. Alexander von Quistorp purchased the estate.
After the Second World War the estate was expropriated and after a period of time fell into decay.
The house changed from being a publicly owned property to a company-owned holiday retreat for employees.

In 1992 The house was purchased by the businessman Wilfried Wietfeldt from Celle, and after extensive modernisation and renovation in the style of a country house, was newly opened on 1st April 1995 under the title Landhotel Herrenhaus Bohlendorf.
